I work with a global cross-functional team, so my day starts with responding to emails from earlier that morning or following up with team members in India, Singapore and London.
I work in a support role, which means I need to be ready at any moment in time to troubleshoot and resolve issues for all users, from Contract Analysts to Cruder Traders.
Being that I am the Chevron BEN Houston Area Liaison, NSBE Houston Vice President, and the HBLI Class IV Project Chair, when I get off work, I typically have an after-hours event or meeting to attend!
Going to college was a major decision for me to get into the career field I am in. Graduate school also increased the opportunities available for me.
There are several satisfying factors about my career, to include the opportunity to work in a high-paced work environment, the ability to work with some of the brightest people in the world, and of course the check I get twice a month.
Typical starting salary range is high 80s to low 90s.
In my spare time, I work out 3 – 4 times a week, I read personal and spiritual development books, and travel the world.
I give back largely by being involved with the NSBE Houston Professionals chapter and the many community service projects sponsored by Chevron.
I serve as the Chevron Black Employee Network (BEN) Houston Area Liaison which means I am responsible for managing the three largest sites in Houston.
Outside of work, I volunteer my time with NSBE Houston Professionals as the Vice President.
